Well it’s that time of year – for many is a very symbolic time of year. It’s the time that marks the death of Jesus by crucifixion and then his resurrection.

Easter is the holiest day in the Christian calendar. It observes the most central tenet of the Christian faith—that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead. The resurrection represents the triumph of good over evil, sin, death, and the physical body.

Easter Sunday marks the end of Holy Week, the end of Lent, and the last day of the Easter Triduum (starting from the evening of Maundy Thursday through Good Friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday), as well as the beginning of the Easter season of the liturgical year.

Eggs represent new life and rebirth, and it’s thought that this ancient custom became a part of Easter celebrations. In the medieval period, eating eggs was forbidden during Lent (the 40 days before Easter) so on Easter Sunday, tucking into an egg was a real treat!

Nowadays, Easter Eggs are very different! Delicious chocolate eggs adorned festively and sometimes full of treats inside. What a treat!!

It’s now, more than ever, to think about our own shells as if there is any slight imperfection it is likely to become more of a problem the more we leave it alone. Once there is a tiny crack it will only get worse – by this I refer to the damage that is done by harmful UV radiation from the sun.

No matter what our skin type – we are all at risk of developing skin cancer! Individuals of all skin colours, shades and tones should protect their skin from UV damage, perform thorough, full body skin examinations once a month and seek immediate medical advice with anything NEW, UNUSUAL, OR CHANGING!

Happy Easter everyone – look after your shell. If there’s a tiny crack you know it will cause havoc at some point later!
Have a great Easter.
