Springlands Hotel & Moshi

Upon our arrival at Springlands, Moshi, we were relieved to have reached our destination after a rather lengthy journey from Heathrow. Our flight to Nairobi went smoothly, but regrettably, we were faced with a considerable layover while awaiting our connection to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Gathering at Heathrow was an intriguing experience as it marked the first occasion that all of us had the chance to meet each other, knowing that we were about to embark on a 6-day trek to the “Roof of Africa,” Kilimanjaro, via the Machame Route – also referred to as the Whiskey Trail.

Everyone was incredibly excited to get going but we did have just one day to have a look around Moshi and relax at Springlands before we set off – The adventure was upon us!! So exciting.

The anticipation was palpable as we eagerly prepared to embark on our journey. With only a single day to explore the vibrant streets of Moshi and unwind amidst the serene beauty of Springlands, we savored every moment before our upcoming expedition. The air buzzed with excitement, and the thrill of the impending adventure filled our hearts. Ah, the joy of anticipation and the prospect of the unknown that lay ahead – truly exhilarating!

Machame Route – we did the harder 6 day option missing out the acclimatisation camp at Karanga Valley.

Here are some pictures taken of Springlands and of Moshi – a vibrant lovely town about 45 minutes from Machame Gate – the start of the route.

Moshi, located in the northern part of Tanzania, is a bustling town nestled at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. As the gateway to the iconic Kilimanjaro, it serves as a vibrant hub for trekkers and travelers from around the world. The town exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with its bustling markets, lively streets, and a rich cultural heritage.

Springlands, on the other hand, offers a serene contrast to the lively ambiance of Moshi. Nestled in the beautiful Tanzanian landscape, it provides a tranquil setting for visitors to soak in the natural beauty and prepare for their journey to Mount Kilimanjaro. The picturesque surroundings offer a sense of calm and serenity, allowing trekkers to connect with nature before embarking on their adventure.

Both locations hold a unique charm, capturing the essence of the Kilimanjaro experience. Whether it’s the vibrant streets of Moshi or the serene landscapes of Springlands, each place contributes to the tapestry of experiences that await those who embark on the journey to Mount Kilimanjaro.
