There have been 2 successful climbs of Kilimanjaro that I have taken part in.

Both of the Kilimanjaro Challenges were spectacular in very different ways.
August 2023 was a small group of 4 17 year olds who just were there to achieve their own goals for different reasons. They were all incredible and we all achieved the highest point of Africa, Uhuru Peak standing at 5,895m (19,341 ft).
December 2024 was very different with over 200 Tanzanians climbing the symbol of National Identity – Kilimanjaro. Summit Day was December 9th, Tanzania Independence Day.
Both of the treks were designed to try and promote awareness of Melanoma and also raise funds along the way for Melanoma UK. For those of you who have followed my stories so far you will already be aware of my Stage 4 diagnosis back in August 2021. This is my chance to do something positive for others. At the same time however, the treks were tinged with some sadness. In 2023 I carried some of my mother’s ashes and also some of my best dog ever, Norman. Their ashes were scattered together at the summit. Then in April 2024 my dad sadly died too – there was only one thing that I could possibly do for him. I reunited my dad with my mum (and Norman) on The Roof of Africa on Tanzania Independence Day. Please consider a donation to incredible cause by clicking this link
