On Kilimanjaro, where the heavens rise,
Snow in Africa meets December skies.
On December 9th, a summit to seek,
Tanzania’s Independence Day at Uhuru Peak.
But beyond the heights, there’s a mission near,
Raising hope, and battling fear.
For skin cancer awareness, we strive each day,
Guiding others to find a safer way.
Step by step, with a cause in view,
Raising funds for Melanoma UK, strong and true.
Together we climb, in snow or sun,
Fighting for lives, until the battle is won.

I’ve done this journey before, taking my Mum’s ashes and my dog’s to the Roof of Africa. But this time, it’s going to be even harder. I’m taking my Dad’s ashes to join my Mum’s. They were inseparable in life, and now, I’ll bring them together forever.
This challenge isn’t just personal—it’s for a cause that has become a part of my own battle. I’m stage 4 skin cancer, after the disease spread to my pancreas in 2021. I want to make a small difference for others who face this fight. We still have so much work to do to educate people about the dangers of UV exposure, and this is my way of raising awareness for Melanoma UK.
The journey will be brutal—temperatures will drop to -27°C, and snow will cover the peaks of Africa. But I need your support to keep going. I need your help to spread this message, to pass it on to friends and family. Together, we can make a real difference. Please, stand with me in this mission.

Please consider a donation towards this challenge – it goes straight to Melanoma UK via GoFundMe.
