I guess most people have some sort of mobile phone that occasionally throws up a “memory” – a montage of pictures that jog your mind and cast you back to days gone by and adventures/ challenges faced.
So I decided just to create my own piece that depicts my own memory of getting fit enough to face my own challenge of climbing Kilimanjaro.
That year, following 12 months of adjuvant single Nivolumab immunotherapy treatment was just crazy. The things I achieved, the promises kept and the dreams that became a remarkable unforgettable memory. Not to mention the amazing friends I made along the way.

Away from skin cancer, my year since Kilimanjaro was filled with a perfect bundle of happiness – I was made a grandfather (Grumpy Gramps!)

There is still plenty to do, and I will also be returning to Kilimanjaro in late November to join a team of people including some of the guides that took me up in August 2023. The climb is designed to achieve Uhuru Peak on December 9th which coincidentally is Tanzania Independence Day – I simply can’t wait. it could well be snowing in Africa at the top of Kilimanjaro!

Another reason to climb the mountain again is to take some of my Dad’s ashes to join my Mum whose ashes I sprinkled at “The Top of Africa”, and some of my beautiful border terrier Norman when I climbed last August.

My whole website is designed to inspire, educate and bring awareness to people about skin cancer in the hope that my experiences will save somebody’s life.

I’m raising money for Melanoma UK and would really welcome any donations to the charity. The monies raised through my challenge will be used to purchase a mole mapping machine which can be used in the early diagnosis of skin cancer.
Please take the time to have a look through my website at your leisure – hopefully you will enjoy the content which shows my travels at experiences was training and climbing Kilimanjaro. It also has very informative pages providing insightful knowledge about skin cancer.
